I may be totally late to the party on this one, but I'd thought I would throw it out there anyway. A little while back I had purchased the Mustang vintage solo seat with the adjustable backrest. As much as I tried to use the backrest and wanted to like it, I couldn't. I'm 6 ft and even with the forward controls on the custom I just felt like I was being pushed too far forward with the backrest. Without it installed everything felt great and not cramped. Long story short I found out that Mustang makes an offset driver backrest tongue, part number is 75099. $23 on Amazon and this makes a world of difference on how this seat feels now with a backrest!

 

Thanks for the part number....just ordered one myself. Do you have any pics with both tongues installed on your seat to show the differences?

I have both the mustang wide tripper with backrest and the wide vintgage solo with backrest and they both seem to provide great back support but a little too forward even with the screw all the way back...and I am short.
