1200C need more power.
Bike has a stage one. I find myself WOTing more than i expected i would do. I need more power.
I dont want a vrod for sure. Dont think i want a bigger bike either. I ride mostly in the city and i can run through traffic with ease.
so what are my options? Isnt it silly to bore a 1200 cc just to add 75 cc? should i do it with cams and i dont know what else?
wait till hd buy duc and get a harley xdiavel?

Long way. cams, heads/headwork, pistons... or twin cam
it does seem silly to swap for 75cc but, if that's what you are after then more displacement isn't going to hurt...Madnss wouldn't call it silly.
cost me about $1100 before eccentricities, failures, and nonessential nonsense. I did it for practice so not much care went into cam selection etc, i just followed bwana1's 98hp formula. I made a few changes but,:
Success!!! I downloaded the dyno sheet.
2008 Nightster
Stage 1 at 79 hp and 76 torque
S E PRO SUPERTUNER and dyno tune
K&N Custom Air Cleaner model # RK-3929
Stock exhaust with baffles removed
Stage 3? at 98 hp and 83 torque (with that same stock exhaust)
from HD SE pro racing parts book
S E PRO CNC PORTED Heads #16500074
S E PRO XL1200 Hi Comp Pistons #22711-04A
S E PRO Hi Output Cam # 25740-05
S E Perfecr Fit push Rods #18424-06
gasket kit #17049-04A
cam gasket # 25263-90D
I got the tuner off of ebay, three years ago $300
I got the Harley parts 15% off msrp, no tax.
Total of all parts was less than $2000 and I ebayed the heads for $350
I'm a happy camper

More power? You mean you're not satisfied with beating up on 883's and Honda Shadows? I'm more and more realizing that my stage 1 1200 is not a fast bike and to make it fast you have to stop bleeding your wallet dry for a few hp here and there. Either drop the few thou for a 100+ hp kit or realize you have a respectable cruiser. A gear change will give you a slight fix that'll be good for day 1. "Drop in" cams (no head work or clearancing) are cheap if you install yourself but only good for a couple/few hp. A few hp is not going to keep you off of WOT.

DK Custom Stage I's are all about performance, and many times our Stage I bikes outperform Stage II bikes, and even stay close to some Stage IV bikes.
Here's a chart showing an almost stock 1200 compared with a DK Custom Performance Plus Stage I. 17.5% increase in Torque is something definitely felt in daily riding.
AND, if you do go with cams or a CI upgrade, you want to have great Stage I to build on top of.

After I did the cams I'm not sure it registered with my butt dyno. I assume I was going faster but obviously not so much to clearly notice. My sweet spot shift point seems to be 6k.
Funny thing is another friends carbed 1200 with rednecked 2 into 1 and no other mods except for proper jetting eats me up. He calls his motor the unicorn.
