Agreed but the wrecked bike had already been bargained down whereas the CL one is the seller's asking price... which may or may not be brought further down.

Also, it's really the bottom line that matters: the difference is 2995-2000 = $995, can the wrecked bike be brought back to life for that amount or less?

Pass. Sounds to me like theres more to the story than he's tellin'. If you really want it and are the gambling type, offer$1500 and be ready to walk.

This is spot on! If you want to spend thousands to make a wrecked bike maybe worth 2k... Then go for it. You can make an unwrecked one yours for less when all the maintenance is factored in.

I see this with classic cars. Some people want 4k for a car that needs 25k to be worth around 8-10k. Some **** ain't worth fixin'

Can always have a frame inspection done.

A few things I have learned buying and selling:
- Everyone's a "Christian" when they are selling. But if you call them on a promise or lie, watch out.

- Every accident is just minor/cosmetic. Decapitation and complete frame destruction are simply cosmetic to them.

Large Marge sold her big rig with "minor scratches" after her accident.
