saddlebags for 883 iron

Hello,

I'm a new rider. I am new to this forum. I'm wondering what are the best saddlebags for a 2014 883 iron? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

We have a 'baggers' thread with lots of options shown here. You may not want to turn your bike into a bagger, but many of the saddlebags available to us get covered in that thread. Get a long drink first!

@OP - "best" is a loaded word and very subjective. Perhaps elaborate on what you are looking for in your bags since there are many options. For example, not everyone likes hard saddlebags like I have, but I love them and they function great, not to mention they match my bike, BUT you have a different bike and different preferences.

Here is another thread about carrying stuff:

@grbrown - get a long drink first...lol....and don't fall asleep in front of your monitor.

Even flicking quickly through 800-odd posts is likely to require some refreshment! :icon_beerchug:

Hence....the search function. Actually I think many new members do not know how to use the search function since I see the same questions popping up. I could copy and paste my responses...lol

Lots of options out there. HD saddlebag guards really help to keep things from rubbing and marring paint, shocks etc. Also you can zip tie to them to keep them secure. (For throw over bags) Swingarm bags real popular many makers. I have used them, as mentioned above Bad G Customs makes good stuff but I think you would be more satisfied if you used a mount for them - Legendary Cycles (previously Dead Creek Cycles) makes one and sells it with or without a bag and HD makes one for their bag. If you like a sissybar, check out Sweatshop Industries for some cool bags.

We're mixing up terms here! I gave a link to a single topic/thread with over 800 posts - no search required, at least for that particular thirst-demanding task!

I have an 883 and personally I didn't like the look of saddlebags on it I went with a small fender rack and a tourmaster tail bag that pops on in about 10 seconds when I need it.

I added a tail bag to mine.
