I stitched mine, it wasn't too difficult. Glued the leather to the underside of the pan, glued the top piece to the foam and joined it along the perimeter, then I punched and stitched it with waxed thread. It took about an hour to stitch it.

Like you, I think I'll go back to the drawing board. I am going to reshape my pan a little, and use black leather.

Also, I think I'll rivet the next one. Space the rivets about .5-.75" apart around the perimeter with about a .5" margin.
Exactly, the perimeter around the edges of mine is too much.

Ill re-use this seat pan, add a few more rivets that will be used to attach the bottom side leather... and lace it all together.

Yours looks to be very neatly put together... Ill try to be that meticulous with my next try.

Thanks for following. Ill be the first to admit there are some 'what not to do' moments but being my first build I am happy with the progress so far.

I fiddled with the solo seat last night. Removed some of the padding and roughed up the edges. It does look a little better.

Still needs a do-over

pistols need to be moved more forward so that all of the image fits in the panel. Some contoured tooling around the rivets may help to blend it all together.

New shoes came in courtesy of TC Bros. Ordered on a Thursday and was tripping over boxes Saturday.... They ship fast!

The Rims are their Moto Iron brand and seem to be pretty good. No loose or bent spoke, chrome finish looks good... Both are 16x3. The front is 100% compatible with the Moto Iron Springer using the supplied spacers that came with the springer itself... So no need to cut new ones. I suspect the back will use the OEM spacers as well. TC Bros also offers the tubes and rubber strips needed to complete the tire mount.

The tires are Shinko Classic White walls...

When having the tires mounted, I opted not to have them balanced with a weight glued to the rim or attached to the spokes... The weights look bad and when they start to rust they really look bad.

Kevin swears by the Dyna Beads for tire balancing and I have sold plenty to our customers while I admit, I have never personally used them myself. Figured now I would give them a go.

Installing them in a tube can be very time consuming. I tried a few different methods such as using zip ties attached to a drill to slap the applicator for vibrations...

Using air pressure to force the beads in...

... It is a PITA and very time consuming but should be worth it.

Took about 45 minutes to do both wheels.

Any reason you didn't opt for ride-on instead?

The Dyna beads were readily available to me because we sell them...

I just did a quick search for the Ride on, I have never heard of it... It is probably much easier to get into a tire tube than the beads. The fact that it seals punctures is intriguing. I would have definitely given Ride On a chance if I had it to do over again.

Id imagine as far as balancing goes, The beads and the Ride-on are about the same.

Ride On requires you to drive the bike for awhile after installing.

I imagine you could put the wheel on a balancing jig and spin it a few thousand times by hand.
