883 sputtering at idle

883 sputtering at idle
I have a 2016 iron 883..5000k. It has started to run really choppy very noticeable at low idle . I noticed what seemed like a burned oil smell on start-up.. checked oil..no leaks ..clean and to proper level. smell dissipated.. seems like some kind of timing issue but I don't know much about these things. All service has been done by qualified shop apt for 5000k mile next week.. big poker run this weekend.. Harley dealer is 70 miles away and booked solid... any suggestions ??
