I think I scrapped the foot peg ???
Yesterday (Sunday) while out riding I took a curve faster then I would normally take it. As I was riding through the curve the road dipped slightly and caused the bike's suspension to compress. At that point I heard a loud scrapping sound and figure it was the foot peg scrapper making contact with the asphalt. Odd thing was I did not feel the foot peg make contact with the road. Upon further investigation the scrapper on the foot peg showed no sign of wear. I looked under the bike and found nothing scrapped up. I am at a loss as to what made contact with the road.

If it wasn't the peg, a left would be the jiffy stand, the right could be the exhaust or exhaust brackets.
I've scrapped them all...don't like it when it's the jiffy or exhaust...those can get the bike squirrely, or worse.

I had something hit hard on the left side once, but didn't find any scrape marks. Well, new scrape marks... I've scraped the rear muffler on the other side. Stock Harleys tend to put metal down just when you're having fun. With good tires - with OEM Dunlops, the rear would slide out before the muffler dragged, on both my sportsters.

It was on the right. I checked the under carriage and exhaust when I got home last night. I could not find any scrap marks. I did not think I was leaning that much to make contact, but I guess the suspension bounce was enough to bring whatever into contact with the road. This is my first Harley and I am getting used to the reduced lean angle. I am taking curves a bit slower and wider.
