Default I'm Too Danged Old

Yeah that's right I'm just too old to be spending all day using the search, so I'll just ask. Which is better, to have an 883, or an 883 bored out to 1200 or just get a 1200 to start with. I want a used sportster for short trips 60 miles round trip max. Ok I like to eat and it shows I'm 5'10" and 215 lbs. I'll keep my 07 Road King Classic for the longer trips. Also I want the Sportster that will give the least amount of problems and spend the least amount of time in the Indy shop, Time is money "that I aint got." PS if I have ask this question before please forgive me

I think a stock 1200 handles 70+ speeds with more confidence than an 883. Just my humble opinion...

Are you ok with filling up the gas tank every 2 days or so?

That would be nice....I get 40 miles out of a 2.2 gal peanut the way it's mounted (you can kind of see it in my avatar). I have to fill up every morning.

OP...stock 1200 would be easier. Seen a lot of guys post about trying to un**** some mistake that a previous owner made during the conversion.

If you're set on a sportster, the 1200 is the way to go...

Well I think that would be a deciding factor for sure, 40 divided by 2.2 = 18.18 MPG that is more gas than my big ol Road King uses per mile, with the two teeth over rear sportster pulley, that I have on it now. I'll try to find a good used 1200 sportster. My daughter is vertically challenged, and I want to let her ride it "maybe" so now my quest begins with 1200 CCs. now I need to start looking for what year.
