Default Removing Rear Fender

Can anyone vouch that its possible to remove the rear fender without a jack. I am looking at removing the plastic guards that cover the struts to change out those hideous rocket tail lights and also remove the fender entirely to get it bobbed. Any links or youtube videos would be appreciated as well as tips on how to do this

At times like this an FSM is a wise investment! I've removed my Glide's rear fender without a jack and guess a Sporty doesn't need one either.

Getting the wheel dropped somewhat out of the way is somewhat helpful, though. Do a search for DIY budget 2x6 bike lift if you don't have the coin for a proper jack.
Also search Delboy on Youtube

As long as you can get your hand under the fender with a wrench to hold the nut while you unscrew the bolt no jack is needed. When my Nightster had the factory 11" shocks it was a bit of a squeeze but I eventually managed with a few curse words.

In for answers.

With my large hands and a 1200N, this would be a burden.

OP writes a "jack".
Any jack to place under the motor/ frame so one can unbolt the rear shocks and lift the chassis should do...even a used junk yard automotive scissor jack...$10.
Not necessarily a harbor freight $200 jack.
IMO that $10 would be money well spent to lessen the perceived burden.

My rear turn signal came loose once. It was a bitch just trying to tighten that bolt with the tire in the way. Then I bought a lift and it was a breeze afterwards. I couldn't imagine trying to pull the fender off without a lift.
