I have an '09 883 with 11K miles on it. Yesterday I noticed a buzzing or rattling noise coming from the primary when I pull in the clutch lever. The noise lasts about 2-3 seconds each time I pulled in the lever.
Today I went to start it up again and the bike started up when I pulled in the clutch and without hitting the start engine button. I put the bike in neutral and again I heard a rattling from the primary after a few seconds. Any ideas?

 

Did you adjust your clutch and primary chain when you changed the Primary/Transmission fluid at 10,000 miles?

If not I would start there.

Your owner's manual will have the destructions to adjust the clutch and primary chain.
