I do not doubt j&s is a great jack. I am not willing to spend that kind of money at this time. I bought the harbor freight yesterday, and it will work fine for what I need.

you can't. You can get a std jack but, the lift jacks are made for the lift jack plates and bolt locations.

Thats really part of the reason I just patched mine up and upgraded. Im not paying 50+ for a jack when the lift is 60 or so.

theres nothing wrong with the hft lift for a sportster. I cant really get behind a $500 j&s being a requirement just cus x dollers were spent on the sportster. The hft style of lifts are more than enough. The j&s is a luxury item... a "nice to have" but, wholly unnecessary. I only did it because i hate putting my dyna the modded hft. If i only had the sporty... the hft would have been replaced with another hft.

i dont get the j&s drama for a sporty but, to each his own.

Huh, local store told me they do not sell the part. It croaked mid way through a project, I like the craftsman though.

Purchased a HF $60 one. Set both jacks side by side and other than the difference in color they were identical Bolt for Bolt. Even the hydraulic jacks were identical. Who ever makes the HF jack also makes the Craftsman. $$$ cheaper same quality and function. HF jack has been working just fine for a couple of years now.
There it is in a nut shell.

I went with the HFT aluminum model a quite a few years back.
Works great even with my heavier FLS...
