Forty Eight Special and Iron 1200

i like the paint a lot but thats pretty much it.
I agree with Blackacre that they need a six speed. The Scout has a six speed and makes it much better when i you want to head out of town for a while. I've ridden a few of them.
What about LED headlights and tail lights like the bigger HD models?
I've put enough into my '05 to make it just as good as one of these if not better.

Iron 1200
I actually like what they did....maybe only partial credit, such that they don't get to count this as a "new" bike, but half credit. The Iron 1200 is way less money than what it cost me to get my Iron w/ABS to the 1200. And to put those handle bars on would be another $1300, since I am considering that now too. Seriously considering a trade and starting with a new canvas.

That's what I was quoted by two different dealers. requires new cables, apparently there is a lot of labor involved. I am not sure how much ABS contributes to the effort. I buy to ride, not wrench, so its not a DIY kind of thing for me. It is an around town bike for me, so unlikely to pull the trigger

I watched
Matt Laidlaw did on the new bikes. He mentioned that current Sporties are built in the KC plant, which as you probably all know is closing in '19. He suggested that the '19s might be the last year of the Sporties as we know 'em. When they bring the new line up in York, it just may be a whole new design. Interesting.
