Any chance this could cause the head to crack?

I made this little bracket to mount this medallion. Obviously it's bolted down tight, and the fact I've tied the two cylinder heads together, could heat expansion possibly cause one of the heads to crack?

I know the intake is doing the same thing but it's in a beefier part of the head. I also know they used to mount the horn using these two holes, but don't know if one side of the horn mounting bracket was allowed to float to allow for any heat expansion.

Opinions...

A ton of Sporties have the coil relocation kit, which mounts the bracket for the coil in the same spot and I've never heard of any breakage to the cylinder heads from this. I made my own coil bracket and it mounts the same way, bolted down tight for 3 years and no problems.

Thanks, I kinda figured as much but I wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something.

Thanks!

My top motor mount uses those two locations to hold the engine in the frame. All 86-03 bikes probably too. I would think it's fine.

Yeah, even my 1972 uses those same basic location for motor mounting. Should have zero issues with that. There is usually more slop in the bolted joint than the thermal expansion that takes place.
