Default model 72 springer

I am looking at a 2013 sportster 72 that has a springer front end. The person told me he is the first owner and that the springer is a factory unit. He mentioned anniversary model. I have searched hard and long and find nothing about a springer sporty. Would you folks have any input?
Tha
nks, folks.

sound like nonsense. grab the vin and give it to the nice folks at hd. they will give you the rundown on what the bike left the factory with. i could be wrong but, i don't recall a springer 72. i think the world would have went nuts if there was a springer anything other than the crossbones during that time period.

front end may be authentic but, probably was installed later.

There was a HD dealership near me that had a flat track inspired Sportster they were selling. It had a chain conversion, wrapped pipes, stripped down look, etc. I don't believe it came from the factory that way but I want to say that particular dealership made the mods themselves. It looked really cool. Not cool enough for me to buy it but it was fun to look at. I'm wondering if another dealership did something similar to a 72.

I like it.
But buyer beware. I don't believe the seller's story.
Good idea to run VIN at DMV/ Carfax/ HD corp.
Yet could be dealer installed before original sale and sold as new.
So can you find the dealer and ask about pre-sale springer conversion?
Yet I still like this bike and would consider buying.
OP Good luck.

Ok, saw the bike. The story was lame and the bike was almost more lame. If it looks to good to be true, it is. After building hotrods and some bikes over the past 45 yrs, I keep thing I have seen it all, but humans are very capable, lol.

Yeah the seller is full of crap. Never was 72 springer. Springers are pain to maintain, so keep that in mind.

I've got a 2013 72. It wasn't advertised as an anniversary model nor was a springer offered by my stealership. My guess is that pgilbert689 is correct that the springer was added by a dealership as a sales tool? It does make it look more like the custom built sportster of the old days on the West coast I remember with the springer on it IMHO. Not hard conversion to do if you've got the money to burn

Looks like someone maybe crunched up the front end and stuck one on it from a Softail Springer. I can't imagine anyone would take the time and money to do this without having to. Maybe his buddy had a front end laying around or a Softail Springer got stolen and the front end would up here.
