Default Handle bars question

Hey guys so I'm a total newbie with all this. So I could use all the help and advice I can get. I just bought these 1 1/4 z bars and a set if burly cables. What I would like to know is there anything else I need? I have a 2017 sportster 883 iron.

It would be a good time to swap grips. The left grip (clutch side) is glued to the bars so you would save some time in not having to try and get it off. Some people end up having to cut the grip off anyways, so I would just order a set of what you like before starting the project.

Assuming you're going to do internal wiring, you may or may not need to extend your wires. I was about an inch short when I upgraded my factory mini apes to 12" RSD mini apes. I bought a LA Choppers extension kit from Dennis Kirk which was nice because all of the wire colors matched. They also include new pins to go in to the factory plugs.

Yeah I bought new cables for 12" bars definetly doing internal wiring. So what size grips should I be getting then that would fit those bars?

Any grips designed for the factory bars should fit, so filter options based off of your Sportster. Where the grips attach on the bars should be 1" in diameter.

Looks like the bars are one inch where the risers go. I bet your current risers will be fine.
