Exclamation Smoke & sound after cylinder upgrade

I installed a Hammer kit 1275 on my 1994 883 hugger last weekend and the first few heat cycles went great.
Today I cranked it up for about a minute before I left for work: there was noticeable smoke coming from the exhaust and a knocking noise that is new as well. I will make a video when I get home and post to this thread.
I did a search for anyone else talking about this and found nothing.
Any thoughts?

Smoke out the pipe and knocking noise together doesn't point to much good. The smoke ( I assume smoke and not water vapor) could be due to an issue with the one of the rails on the oil ring. Possible you folded one over on assembly..The knocking you'd have to listen with a screwdriver to your ear ( or stethoscope) to narrow down exactly where its coming from. Neither is something to accurately diagnose without having the bike present, and is just guess work at this point.

I had Hammer pre-install the pistons so I wouldn't know about the state of the oil rings. Do you think I'm running it too rich? Will try to get it to idle without the enrichener engaged. (On the video [that is still uploading] the motor quit after i pushed the *** all the way back in... and because i was still fuddling with the phone i didn't get to the throttle in time.)

Might have to go back in :-(

So Aaron at Hammer has been incredibly helpful and has asked me to test the compression, verify the timing, and photo the spark plugs. All of those will have to wait a day or so. I have essentially left my wife alone with the kids in the time I've been working on this (and working at the job). Will report back in this weekend... time to be a husband/daddy for a while :-)

I couldn't hear knocking but was watching the video on my phone. Does the smoke continue even after it's fully warmed up and while riding? It kinda looked like moisture. I know on cold mornings my bike does that for a bit while warming up but its not smoke and it fades away once the bike is warmed up.

I tried to get mine on video yesterday morning but it wasn't quite cold enough to see the moisture in the exhaust. Watch the video on post 149. This seems to be the same "smoke" you are seeing but it's not smoke at all.
