Not a big fan of white walls either but I'd still go for the 1200!

I would go with the 1200 and not even look back. But then, I like spokes and big power.

The iron looks awesome
You can always convert an 883 to a 1200 down the road

I,ve just changed from an 883r to a 1200c

My personal view is that if the 883 engine was in the custom cb it would be a great bike.

The 1200 is a lot more viby and I much prefer the gearing on the 883.

The gearing on the 1200 is not suited to slow roads. the 883 is and can easily cruise at highway speeds.
The 1200 may be a stronger engine but I find it much more fun bouncing off the 883 limiter.

THe 1200 Nightster has forward controls. The 883 Iron - mid controls.

If you’re a tall dude, the 1200 would fit better. You can convert but an extra expense...

I would take the bike without the spoked wheels . Want no part of a tire with a inner tube . Cleaning those stupid spokes and should have the wheel trued on a regular schedule . Try finding someone that will do that correctly and actually knows what they are doing and will charge a fare price .

I would get the 1200.

It's easier to change appearance parts than it is to do a conversion to the larger displacement depending on how mechanically inclined you are.

To each his own. I prefer inner tubes because you can run tube type tires which have softer sidewalls that I can replace myself at home without a machine. Also, any flat you get is repaired for $12 or whatever the price for a tube is where you're at.

You don't need a machine to change tubeless tires and for 20 bucks your back on the road in a couple of minutes

You NEED a machine but it's a lot easier to swap out a tube tire than it is a tubeless.
