Default Sportster Rear Fender 2006 Fit to 2016

Can anyone confirm if the full rear fender from a 2006 Sportster XL1200C
will fit the 2016 XL1200CX Roadster? I found one online and I want to check if its a direct swap.

Cool

I suggest you compare the two years on a parts website. My first look suggests that while the part numbers are different, the '06 may well fit. The sorts of thing that can change over the years are the way the rear light is installed in the fender. I bumped into that swapping fenders on my old Glide, but bought a secondhand newer fender, so had it not worked I wasn't going to be broke. May well be a case of try it!

I looked into the manual and mounting holes look the same. Just picked up the fender today for pennies. Will install later tonight and if all is good, going to go full MoonsMC conversion.

Look forward to seeing the end result! That short rear fender looks awful IMHO, a 'proper' one should make the bike look more complete - as well as keeping the rider drier.

Looking at the parts numbers, a rear fender in primer carries a 2011 part number so something is different.

Fits like a glove, not like OJ's. I ordered MoonsMC tail light, the laydown plates, etc. I just need to figure the wiring harness since the CX has integrated brake/turn/run lights.

I'll be posting what I do on the CX thread.

Yep. Even in dry weather I get, sand and dirt behind me.
