Default Burly Slammer install question

Hi all. I am installing a burly slammer kit on my wife's 883 low, the instructions say to cut the pvc spacers to 7.7 inches, but they are only 7 inches long. anyone have any knowledge or experience with this install? no burly or Dennis Kirk technical help available on weekends.....
