09 1200c low fuel light
Hey guys I am having an issue with the low fuel light on my 09 1200c. I fuel up and around the 20 mile mark the low fuel light will come on. It will stay on until I shut the bike off and turn it back on. After the initial warning it seems like it lasts until the 90-95 mile mark. I have fueled up on the second warning and was only able to get 2.5 gallons of fuel in it (have 4.5 gallon tank).i have a powervision that I leave installed all th time and it confirmed that I had only used 2.5 gallons as well. Does anyone have an explanation or possible remedy for this issue. The warning light is rather useful! |
I have a '17 1200C. Mine comes on at around 80 to 90 miles after a fill-up which takes 2.0 to 2.2 gallons to fill back up. After about the 10th fill I determined my average mpg to be 43. Now I just set my B trip meter to zero at each fill up and wait until I reach 150 miles before fueling up. The dealer tells me to ignore the light and just keep with the 150 mile fill-up routine.. The light does remind me to occasional look at my trip meter.

Mine use to come on at the 110-120 mark reliabily over the course of 10k miles, so I’m assuming that there is an issue with a sending unit or something. |
Very common for some strange reason, mine did it all the time, sometimes almost immediately after a fill up, I just watched my mileage
