On the basis that it is not good practice to not run an engine unless you are going to get it up to proper running temperature it is always advisable to check the oil after you have got the engine warmed up.
The manual describes checking the oil with a cold engine by just running it for a couple of minutes to get the oil back into the oil tank.
I have no idea how long it takes for the oil to drain out of the tank so as soon as you switch off check the oil then but get the bike on level ground for best results.
I have found it feels like a vacuum forms and it is harder to remove the dipstick/cover when the engine is hot to when it is cold.
