2017 Iron 883 Front Pulley Size

Anybody know how many teeth it has and can I increase it a bit to get a little more top end
Thanks!

If you mean the transmission pulley, then it's 29T.

You can swap in a 30T pulley that you can buy from the MoCo.

The Iron 883 for the US uses a 29 tooth front belt sprocket. 40409-04 SPROCKET, TRANSMISSION - 29 TEETH
The International 1200 models use a 30 tooth front belt sprocket-40380-04 SPROCKET, TRANSMISSION - 30 TEETH (INTERNATIONAL ONLY)The US 1200 models use the same final drive gearing as the 883s.

The 883 models also have a lower primary chain gear ratio (the transmission gears are all the same 883 or 1200)
34/57 sprockets on 883, 38/57 with 1200s

Thanks guys, can I go a little bigger than 30t?
The freeways here have a 65mph speed limit but everybody is going 75
Last time I took my girl to the beach we were pushing it to not get run over

You can go to a 32 tooth front. Takes off approx. 500 RPMS at 70 MPH. I bought a kit that included the speedo corrector. Needs a little extra clearance on the cover.

What kind of mods do you need to do to gain that extra clearance?

Here is a thread with info on a 32 tooth front pulley-

The boss for the cover bolts needs some clearance, easy to do with a die grinder, takes about ten minutes.

I purchased it for $209.00 ($219.00 now) with the speedo corrector. If you tell them model they will program the corrector for you, plug and play, very simple.

If you put your adjusters all the forward you can use your existing belt. I am going with a smaller rear pulley also, will go from 68 tooth to a 66 tooth.

This is the ebay seller I purchased from.Seller information

Thanks, what year is your sporty?
Will that kit mess up my gear indicator display on the 2017 Iron?

pistondealer 06-13-2018 01:18 PM

2007 XL883C (EFI)

I'm pretty sure the speedo and gear indicator use separate senders so it shouldn't be an issue.

This seller was really easy to deal with so I would ask them that question to be sure. I asked seller some questions before I purchased and they got back to me right away.
