I hope you're nothing like me. Sometimes I find myself wondering why I did not go with the 110 or 120 hp package. However, I am very happy with my setup and results. Apache snow is correct, these builds are a joy to ride. You will absolutely love the feeling.

I'm happy with the 1250 kit I got from Hammer. It really makes a difference. I have the stock 883 heads and gearing, and I don't feel like I need any more power. If I intended on cruising on it, I might change the gearing, but for my purposes, I like the stock gearing. It pulls like a freight train.

Hey Billy, not sure if you have committed to anything yet but I too will attest to the excellent system that Hammer has put together. I lucked out and just bought a bike that had the 1250 100hp kit already installed. I won't say how much I paid for it, but rest assured, I should probably be behind bars. I'm 6ft and 225lbs and I am completely satisfied with the ride. If I want to cruise or commute, I do so without worrying about reliability issues. The bike is completely rideable in every situation I've encountered. If I want to go, it goes. If I want to cruise, it does.

Further to that, I'm not a bike tech by any stretch, but I do have some experience with various automotive motors, and I reccomend you heed the warnings offered already with regards to the mix and match method of engine building. All the major players of your motor work in an orchestrated dance to optimize power while maintaining efficiency and reliability. Best to keep everything that is designed to work with one another doing exactly that.

Please post back when/if you have made a decision and how it is/did go.

I did just the 1275 and I'm very happy with it. I've only got about five thousand miles on it but if I had it to do all over again I wouldn't change a thing.

IIRC Hammer has some performance graphs on their website, which show the various stages of tuning, using their products. IMHO the biggest improvement comes with the basic conversion, which boosts torque and power substantially. Other tuning improvements, such as bigger valves, a change of cams, etc, add much more power, but relatively little torque. Should I ever bite the Hammer bullet I will certainly stay with the basic kit, as that matches best to the style of riding I do. But I do have a Buell Firebolt for the serious motoring!

hp and tq are related so what you’re saying does not make any sense at all. Any time you want to compare tq on my dyno charts with both my top shelf 1250 and 1275 against a basic conversion let me know. We can also compare the hp curve too, since they are related with simple math.

Torque is a component of horsepower. The other component is rpm. Torque x RPM = power.
horsepower = torque times rpm divided by 5252

I recommend you contact them directly to discuss costs and results.

also, why did you quote madnss on this? The chart doesn't display tq, so how does it pertain to what be said?
