I'll bite..why would do this? Did you build a monster motor or is your bike stock?

Let's see if I get answers.....

The answer is absolutely NO, unless you have a LOT of power.
There is no reason for it.
They are high maintenance, more hvy, and did I say more maintenance?
I grew up with chains , you can have em.......

Well some how my teeth are shredded on my belt so it had to be replaced anyway. I can convert it for 70$ more than just a belt replacement and i was curious. Ultimately i wanna make it a 1250 rubber ripping wheelie machine . I dont mind some regular maintenance. Any thoughts?
-thanks adam

I got over 100 hp and my belt works just fine. I would never go back to a chain.

You want someone to tell you to do this-
OK go ahead, but if you actually ride this machine you will get rid of the chain in short order.
If it is just a TT bike.....well you might like it. (tavern to tavern)

I think you have enough answers to make up your mind. The thing I always hated was wiping lube and greasy dust off of my rear wheel. Chain maintenance was always my least liked chore. I'd never go back!

I remember chains as being greasy maintenance hogs. When the belt drive came along it was like going from dial up
to DSL.

One of the things that drew me to the roadster was the belt drive.
Chains work great and I like them..... on someone elses bike.

I’m a chain drive fan. Today’s chains are not as high maintenance as some of the whiny folks on here complain about. I’m also still running a factory belt on my 02, 120hp. Once that snaps I’ll slap on my old 520 chain drive parts. I’d do it now, but pure laziness is keeping me from it ha! 51/49 chain in my favor. Chain allows a lot more gearing options. I’d run a 520 xring if you go chain. I’d also order direct from Pbi sprockets and not spend the money on a conversion chain “kit”
