My 16 Roadster was a "leftover" as well as my wife's 17. They don't seem to be selling well but I am quite happy with ours. The earlier Roadsters and sport models were probably step children as well. The xr1200 was also, it didn't look enough like a Harley for the Harley folks and to non Harley folks, well it was a Harley. I wonder if they had combined the looks of the new Roadster with an xr or Buell version of the motor if it would be selling better.

We had the good furtune to continue to receive the 883R until 2015 and also got the XR1200 before and after it was available in North America, so the MoCo also knows a good thing!
