Default GoPro camera mounting on your sportster

Hello crew !,

I own a 2014 Iron 883 and would like to start to video log some highway travels.

Which is your experience on that ?. I want to get a good mount that doesnt get all Harley vibrations on the video, and be able to mount it in any place that would be good for (i just got musctache crash bars, maybe is a good place).

Helmet mount i dont like much, maybe to try gopro chest mount ?

thanks

Mine where on my helmet or body via mounts or chest strap.

There's no right or wrong. But if you can use s secondary clip to prevent loss, go for it.

Default Mount

I use the chest mount. What I would like to know is how to cut down on wind noise. I have an external mic with a little fuzzy thing on it which I clip to the seat but it still gets its fair share of wind noise.

Howdy. Been a dang dang long time since I was on the ole Forums. Been busy with floods and stuff this year. Mine is mounted to my helmet. I use a Sena bluetooth backpack attached to my cam, and the mic is internal to my helmet. I have a Sena headset that I talk to the camera. The backpack sends the audio to the go pro. Sounds complex but not really. Think my old vlogs are in my sig. I am getting back into the game slowly but surely.

I have used the helmet mount, handlebar mount, as well as the chest mount. all work great. The image stabilization on the gopro is pretty good. I have also used a stabilizer and it does wonders because as you lean the bike over the camera remains level.

I've got a pretty good helmet mount setup (with mic inside the helmet) for my GoPro 6 Black and use a Ram mount on the handlebars for my GoPro 5 Session. With video stabilization enabled, the image quality is very watchable. You may notice significant bumpy roads, but the view angle is wider than the human eye and doesn't appear as jarring or dramatic. Happy to list out the pieces of equipment used if you (or anyone) is interested.
