1982 XLS

Found an original article on the XLS.
I am going to look at this bike. It seems to be the winner so far. The bike is in good shape and I had the current owner send me a bunch of photos and it might be worth grabbing. I may have to put aside my bobber design and do a restoration of this special 25th anniversary XLS with the original paint. The tank on it is a super glide 4 gallon tank that is from the glide.

91-03, is my vote. Give it some POWA !!!! Hammer 1275
as far as engine, I think 2000-2003 has the two pins per lifter which is nice. Hammer upgraded my 1992 case for that. Imho 4 speed evo’s are BAd azz, but have their issues and engine upgrades are not as available as 5 speeds. Hell, even the rubber ducks can be bad azz with POWA. Good luck!

I am not sure how much I can get him down on it. He stated he paid more then what he is selling it for and had to rebuild the transmission. I might be able to get him down to a reasonable number, but not a steal on my side. I have done a lot of research on this model and it is not some money making collectible, but he is selling it at a decent value. I am sure I could do a little work and make money on it, but that is not my goal. I want to have a nice rider and project bike.

I have a 4 speed now and would buy a 5 speed if I was ever going to ride it on the highway.

I have a 5 speed 06 Softail for the long rides. The four speed is for around town and daily commute type of thing.
