Default Sticking throttle cable

Recently bought a 2009 XL1200C for $2200 with 25,000 miles. Runs good. Put on a Cobra exhaust and was installing new grips but could not get idle cable to adjust properly and this is what I found.

zip ties, duct tape......and wrapping cable equipment..............only thing i carry for those quick fixes
