I hope it works out for you. Its not for me. I built a 1969 Triumph 650 hard tail back in the 70s. Hated riding that thing. Traded it for a Harley side car. That got that out of my system for good. Any way good luck with it. You had a pretty nice looking Sportster.
Thanks guys, I know it’s not for everyone, just something I really want to do.
Well really that's the point isn't it?
Nothing like the feeling of doing it yourself and having something nobody else has.
You see a million stock black HDs everywhere but nobody's gonna mistake your bike for a stock one.
More power to you, looking forward to seeing finished product.
Dropped my frame off at Union Speed and Style so Jordan could weld it for me. I’m not very good at welding and doing a critical section like the frame seemed like a good place to leave it to the pros
i did however start working on my bars to weld on some 1” risers.
Does the rear section only get welded at those 4 points? That lower frame section seems a little small or at least the way they get welded to the side seems inadequate but keep mind I am no expert.

yep just those 4 points. At least from what I’ve read no one has had an issue with these weld on kits, but I guess time will tell.
