Sorry, just saw your post. Missed it somehow. That is exactly what I am trying to avoid, and want it leaning backwards enough to keep it streamlined.

Just for a different perspective could you go to a dealer and ask to see your bike fitted with a H D screen?

For some reason I am unable to upload pictures - used to work!

Sorry, that is not an option for 2 reasons. One, the nearest shop is 45 miles away, amd 2 I had eye surepgery Wed and cannt drive yet.

However, even with crazy blurry eyes, I got it finished today. I wll post pics, hopefully in order, but bear with me, I still can't see worth crap.

I have ended up with the bottom still a bit more forward than I wanted, but bringing the battom farther back stands the shield too upright, for my liking, so I compromised.

I am VERY happy in that I managed to retain use of all 4 QD clamps.

You can see how I reshaped the brackets, both for cable clearance and for the QD brackets.

I ended up doing both sides to match, just because.

I also drilled a new 1/2"hole for the bottom mount bolt and cut off the original hole, so it didn't look like something was forgotten.

As you can see I painted the lower half, both the shield and brackets, to eliminate glare, hopefully it works.

I also installed the visor, and my mid controls showed up today as well. For a guy that see worth crap right now, I got quite a bit done.

I need to leave feedback for the seller of the mid controls too.

I will try to take a pic of the glare reduction (hopefully) tonight or tomorrow.

Ok I took another hi and low beam shot. I am calling it a success. There is a slight glare from the brackets but it is way less obvious in person than in the pic.

I took these in my shop so it's not the same scenario as before, so hopefully you can see the improvement. There is ZERO fiber optic effect at the top, and that was most annoying on the road. It was very distracting while riding at night.

so when my eyes clear up I will hit the road again.

I tried to install my new mid controlsbut I have to remove the fromt muffler, and one bolt is frozen and the head is stripped. Fun times tomorrow with that.

Thumbs up

That's brilliant! Well no, of course, you've done an excellent job of eliminating the unwanted brilliance! Jolly well done.
