Default Riser extension for iron 2017

Good morning RIDERS, somebody could tell me if installing riser extension of an 1 inch in my IRON 883 2017 ABS I have to change the original cables. I would like to just raise the handlebar a little bit without having to change any cables. I get some extension in my country that they say they are for HD 48, will be the same handlebar that iron? Thank you !!

Check the length of your cables, but raising just an inch should not be a problem.

Yes, LA Choppers is a reliable product. Be aware the risers in your picture are 2 inches, though. Still should not be a problem. Good luck!

I used these 1.5" risers without changing cables . I wouldn't go taller.

The riser extensions pictured above will NOT fit your Iron. They are for a 48. The 48 has a different handlebar riser set up than the Iron (and all other Sportsters). You need to get a Riser Extension Kit for your Iron, you can see various choices at this LINK. They are much LESS expensive than the ones for the 48, and can be shipped to your country.

You will not have to change cables. I used the 1" rider extensions from DK without any problem. I only needed to swap the brake cable when I changed to taller handlebars.

Hi,
I think the brake cable (the limiting one) is the same length in Iron 2016, 2017 and 2018.
If this is the case, in my Iron 2016 you can put a 3.5'' risers (or a 2'' riser exterders over the 1.5'' stock risers). It will not reach with 4.5'', and difficult 4''.
Hope it heps
