I'd try a propane torch, since you are probably planning on painting the frame anyway. Just be prepared to douse a few flames.

That's perfectly normal.
When that thought pops into your head, walk away, grab a cold beer (maybe more than one), and think about how awesome the "finished" bike is gonna be.
