Most of the wires were cut and taped..

Can you say headache!!
I'm not near ready to tackle this...

I think you can find a nice used harness for a cheaper price than the headache you are looking at.

I was wondering about that. Do you have to buy a complete harness or parts?

Rather than spending hours unscrewing someone else's stupidity, I have found it is much easier to just get a new wiring harness (cars and bikes)

I don't know, but I bet you can find a whole used one from Ebay for decent, if not I found one for my 1982 on Amazon and doing some searching.

Sorry no progress to report. Tires are being mounted and balanced.
Ive got to take a short break... my wife's been sick and I just damaged the tendons in my wrist. So I can't use my right hand for a couple of weeks.
On the bright side, maybe it will be warmer by then.

just got my tires mounted and rims touched up and cleared...

I should have stopped while I was ahead. Started to assemble the triple tree and decided to check the bearing race and the bottom race is shot. And of course I can’t get it to move at all. I’m going to try a chisel and see if I can cut it out.
Didn’t need this....
