john deer makes a satin black that matches perfectly to HD........but that looks like spray paint from the hardware store. color code 13 with some coffee added at the factory

And you're 100% certain the bike in the pictures above is vivid black?

 

That's not a modern base coat /clear coat paint so good luck finding a match for it today. Older single stage paint.

Nope. If I was to bet-I'd bet money that example is NOT factory paint.

 

That is not a stock Harley gas tank. The petcock is at the rear of the tank. The finish looks like a half-assed clearcoat job from a can.

Vivid Black is the glossy black. They have used that name at least since my 1991, and much earlier. Please note where the gas petcock is located on my bike.

OP, I'm sorry that I can't add anything factual to your thread, but the title struck me as humorous and reminded me of a quote:

 

I'm 100% certain that is not a genuine Harley paint. The decal/sticker is a generic one from way back, as also is the tank IMHO. Looks like a PO has personalised your bike, although he has good taste with his Pingel fuel tap!
