Default Sportster electrical connector question

Hi, I’m having some electrical problems with my sportster custom build. It’s a 1998 XLH. There’s a mystery connector and I can’t seem to find where it connects to (I obviously didn’t take enough notes or pictures when I took it apart). Can anyone tell me what this connector is, and whether or not it will prevent the bike from powering up if it’s not connected (picture below)? When I turn the key nothing happens. If it’s not that connector then it must be something else. The battery is fine.

California bike. Trapdoor solenoid for emissions. They will not affect the bike running unless they are grounded out. The white/black wire goes to the run switch and ignition coil, and the green wire to the starter relay.

Thanks for the reply. It must be something else stopping the bike from powering up then. I’ll investigate further. Cheers.

If you don't have the wiring diagram, you should be able to view it here

I failed to read the wiring diagram correctly. I think I had the battery wired up to the starter motor incorrectly. I had to go through the wiring diagram and rewire the bike bit by bit until it worked.
