Stock crossover would go bye bye, and it would become a mini hidden "H" for the new one.

Exclamation

Take a long look at the current system on your bike, assuming it is stock or close to stock. All rubber-mount Sporties come with the entire system supported off the engine unit. There are none with any part of the exhaust mounting off any part of the frame. On the Touring bikes the mufflers can slide fore and aft through the rear mounts on the saddlebag frames, while the rubber they are made of also allows a degree of movement in other directions.

There were a limited number of models of Sporty with a cross-over system, notably the XLCR, but they were all solid mounts. A pal of mine had one - it was much nicer to look at than to ride!

I have to hand it to you ... there is probably no one on this forum better than you that can basically repeat things (or portions of) that others have said ... like it was never said before

Keep up the good work

Yea it's probably not the most practical idea that has rattled around between my ears. Was fun to think it. Now if HD had only made the heads so one exhaust was on each side......

Shortly after I bought my first new Harley in 1974 my local dealer had a new XR in the showroom - for sale! If only I could have afforded to buy both......

I was on your side of the pond in '74-75. In West Germany. Sometimes I was't sure if it was to keep the USSR from trying to take over the world or to keep the Germans from making a 3rd attempt. Now we have all new players in the game.
