interchangable parts 2007-2019 xl
are most parts interchangable on all sportster models 2007 to 2019 sportsters such as seats, exhaust ? I have a 2010 883L, and wonder about changing my stock seat to a different stock seat. Also, I found a old style large ironhead front fender which was also fitted on shovelhead Superglides/ironhead Sportsters up to 1984. Would this front fender fit my 2010 883L?

I don't believe any of us can give you an answer to your first question regarding 'most parts'! That's called an 'open question', for which it is not possible to give a short reply - I don't believe the book on that subject will ever get written. Limit your questions to very specific parts and we have a chance of being able to give you an answer.
As for seats, there are two types of gas tank, the shorter classic Sporty tank, plus the longer larger capacity more rounded ones used on some custom models. A seat off a 'short tank' model may not fit with the longer tank. It would be worth checking the styles of seat that will fit your bike by going to the Shop tab on the H-D website. It may also be better to use the US website, as I do from the UK. That way you will be able to see the style of seats that will fit, also check other models that use the same seat.
Can't answer the fender query, although I did have a new '74 SuperGlide with one!

On Exhausts,
2014+ use 12mm O2 sensors, 2007-2013 use 18mm O2 sensors. (head pipes are different)
The Crossover changed in 2014. In 2014+ the crossover is between the two head pipes.
2007-2013 the crossover is between the two mufflers. (mufflers will be different)
The actual header/muffler mounts are also different.
You can look at the HD Sportster Parts Manuals online. They have a list of new part numbers for each year listed.
Search the HD SIP for year and Sportster. example 2010 Sportster.

I usually use one of the online microfiche site to compare part number between years/models-
you can't right click and copy the part number but you can highlight them and use CTRL+C to copy them.
I paste them into an Excel spreadsheet then compare.
Here is the 1983XLH front forks:

Here is the 2010 883L
