Where do you look?
Greetings riders,
When you acquire a new or “new to me” sportie where do go for inspiration? -Instagram? Any big pages or people to follow? -Youtube? Any big “vlogs” that show the build or where they bought parts from? -Internet blogs? Any large authors that build and review the parts they selected? My wife and I recently added a new 2018 Iron1200 to our fleet for her to ride, she wants to build/customer the bike for her style but she can’t just see a set of exhaust pipes and know those are V&H short shots or see an air cleaner and know it’s an S&S. She also doesn’t like the idea of combing thru the pages of my EasyRider magazines. Looking forward to reading your recommendations. |
Well, I may not be able to provide insight into any particular vlogs other than blockheadmoto, bikeNbird and utilizing the Revzilla site for ideas. For my 18' Iron 1200, through browsing on the Revzilla page and looking at reviews of some products, I purchased some Cobra 3" RPT slip-ons due to the testing they had done on several manufacturers products. I haven't done an air breather/cleaner yet due to ultimately not knowing how far I'd go with Stages and tuning. When I get some decent pics and then figure out how to load them up in here, I can post them as well.

Does Mrs H want to ride this new bike or look at it?! Relax, take your time and don't try to rush. If she doesn't have any ideas at present then don't try to force things. Visit your local dealers at the weekends, any local bike meeting places, just leave one or two Easyrider mags lying around, not a pile of the darned things, you get the picture.

I turn to Veronica Bielik on Instagram for inspiration. Hot damn!

Barbara Eden if you want to have no say in the ideas, just blink.
But then it would not be your bike if you stole everyone else's ideas. . Go out on a limb and do something original. Form follows function. Don't get it backwards. Or it will turn out like a skinny jeans wearing kid with no clues Who looked at pages of EZ riders for help. |

Look inside yourselves for the answer, young grasshoppers. You'll find your path through the darkness into the light.

That's where it all started for me as a kid. Choppers and chicks, what a dream combination.
