Default Different year coil?

Anyone know if a different year coil would work on my 04? Or are they all pretty specific?

04 and up are single fire correct? As long as it’s single fire it should work just fine. Stock or aftermarket. 03 later is dual fire.

I have looked into this in depth. An 07 and up coil will not work on earlier model years. Wish they could, they 07-up coils look much nicer.

ah bummer! well, thanks for the info. is it because of how the coil interfaces with the ICM/ECU?
