Thanks for steering me in the right direction in the forum cause after I posted I realized I done it al wrong.
As for the spacer I’m gonna mock it up with pvc pile till I get it right then cut the one I ordered to the right length.
Move read many forums about this and found a good rule of thumb for doing it that way and that’s to make sure the caliper is centered.
Ive also noticed if it’s not right it binds and the axle won’t slide in easily.
So with that I’m gonna do it myself. The wheel should roll easily when it’s correct I would assume.
One thing I forgot to add is both wheels have tapered roller bearings. The front wheel was ok.
Its getting so close to time to take that first ride!

The guy that owned this bike traded the original wheels for cast wheels from a 99 model. I’m not sure exactly if from a Sportster or not.
Truth be known I’m not sure I even lost a spacer but think I must have.
I have three, one is about an eight of an inch the second is 3/4” and the third is close to a couple inches long. I’m not around my bike at the moment and may have to send the exact lengths later. The longest is 1/4” larger diameter on the sprocket side. I think that’s the side I have a spacer missing.
I bought a 3/4” spacer but it’s too long. They’re expensive and I’d like to know before ordering another one or cutting the new one what the correct length is.
I’m so close to firing it up and taking the first ride but have to be certain everything is right before doing that.
Look up forum member multihdrdr. He's the expert on wheels/bearings/axles/spacers & fitments.

good luck,

T.

I got this and finally had a few mins to reply to this thread.
It’s together and and ready to roll. The next payment is the last one and I’m really excited. Gonna try to send a picture.
Thanks

Still have some blackout work left on the motor and a couple minor things but that’s it

Didn't the '99 wheels still use tapered wheel bearings?
