Belt Adjustment

We all have our problems, for sure. Grew up in Ohio, but even there is not like Wisconson. Be careful what you wish for. It has rained almost every day this month, and numerous weather types are saying it will rain likely every day in Feb.
I wouldn't mind AS MUCH except our septic tank is already beyond its leeching capacity. We get it pumped out and water is flowing back in from the leech lines. This causes it to fill up almost overnite. It will take min of a week with no rain for me to hope it will drain. So it sounds like sometime in Mar.

I use the typical 10 lb belt tension deflection gauge. However, recently gained access to the Gates 508c Sonic Belt Tension meter. Some of the bikes I work on have the specifications for belt tension both in deflection and in hertz, which when making belt adjustments with the Gates meter very simple. I have yet to see any published specs on Harley's belt tension in frequency. Curious if anyone has come across this info?

Got mine on the ground, and with the gauge, right at 1/4" deflection. Ready to ride, as far as the belt goes anyway. I found out the crossover pipe is directly in the way of viewing the deflection gauge, so I lined it up with a frame member, and eyeballed it on the gauge. Worked real slick, that belt tool.
