Iron 883 Rear fender removal for a chop job
I am getting ready to chop my rear fender to about 8 inches, so it will sit at the very top of my tire, I have already made my bike a rigid so I can lay that fender damn near on my tire. I am going to cut the fender struts all the way back to where the strut actually mounts, so basically the entire strut. I also removed the gas tank because I am going to repaint my bike before spring, I was contemplating copper plating the tins (still on the fence). Unsure what seat I want, maybe a chopper seat that sits on the frame with no springs. I am looking for low low low profile on this bike, thinking to achieve it i have to remove all the comforts of springs and what nots.
Before fender removal
Fender off and Tank off
Tank off, no easy way to remove gas but to tip it and dump out I suppose.
Ready to cut the fender struts all the way off
Marked fender on how far I want to cut.
