Help in choosing slip on exhaust
Hello to all, I need opinions on choosing slip on exhaust. I have a 2016 Iron 883, a new rider with 1000 trouble free miles. Im looking for slip ons that offer quality of sound over quantity. I know sound is entirely subjective, but I had my mind set on the V&H twin slash rounds, until I read that they are extremely loud, possibly the loudest slip ons you can get. Many have said the sound becomes unbearable after half hour of highways riding from how loud it is. I dont want the loudest. I actually want the "quietest" slip on that offer the all too familiar Harley sound that the stock lacks. From the research I have done, the ranking in sound level seems to be SE, Khrome Werks, Cobra, Rush, VH. I read a lot of good things on Khrome Werks, many people say its a good quality sound without being too obnoxiously loud like the VH. I also like the SE, however, I read the newer ones are not good. Im not interested in modifying the stock exhaust, I dont want a full exhaust, Im not doing any engine mods. Im not interested in power gain. Its strickly a slip on for a better sounding bike. I respect anyones bike, and how loud you personally like it. Im not knocking on VH, I just dont think they are for me. Can anyone offer their two cents, perhaps another brand that Im not familiar with? Thank you.

The Krome Werks are good

Selected taper from the style drop down. They look like stock and sound very good.
Add the sound reduction kit if too loud

I took off the V & H straight shots that were on the bike when I got it. The looked fantastic but after about 10 min they were obnoxiously loud to my ears.
I replaced them with the SE duel shortys which look great and still have the low HD rumble I like.
The V&H seem to have a sharper high treble sound which add to the total volume while they still keep the low rumble. I am not sure how that is even possible.
The SE lack that high treble sound. They are still plenty loud but I am now able to hear my in helmet sound system and blue tooth external speakers. I have no problems starting my bike any time of day without worry of having the neighbors complain which was a minor concern with the V&H.
Sound is a subjective matter to be sure but I feel my hearing should come first.
Good luck.

I love my Bassani slipons, have had them on my Sportster for almost 6 years now. They are not obnoxiously loud, however they are loud enough that I usually won't ride it to work at 5 in the morning just in case it would wake up the my subdivision. My stock Heritage will fill that slot : )

Thanks for the replies, Im leaning towards the SE Street Canon. I know they are a hefty price tag, but they seem to be the most subdued of the slip-ons. I live in the suburbs, and have good neighbors, I don't wan to be the guy that wakes half the neighborhood coming home at midnight. The other is the ear/head fatigue I read so much from the louder slip-ons. Thanks to all.

Rush slip ons have a nice mellow deep tone. Get the ones with the smallest baffle and you will be relatively quiet compared to most other slip-ons, but still not has choked up sounding as the stock.

IMHO the steeet cannon is a terrible buy. Lots of money and they sound like stock mufflers that have a 1/2” hole in the baffle plug. Save a ton of money and research that. A bit more rumble and it cost about 15 dollars for a step drill bit and extension and 20 minutes of time.
