I have a 2009 Iron 883. The stock seat was awful. I rode it from VA to FL and about died.
As soon as I got back I ordered a seat from Mustang and never looked back.

For saddle bag I used the throw over ones from Harley for a while. They're ok but I only use them on long trips. I just bought a solo bag from La Rosa which I'm pretty happy with. Check out their sale section on https://larosadesign.us/harley-leath...s-and-luggage/. You might find a good deal on some bags there.

Another vote for Mustang. I love the "vintage solo seat". Be careful if go that way, they sell a "wide" version that is wide enough to spread your legs out enough to effectively raise the bike a couple of inches, at least as far as your feet reaching the ground is concerned. All day comfort.

I went with the RSD boss, I had the same issue with the stock seat. The RSD seats are made by Mustang and I think they look good. Crazy comfy and they still have a low profile. They’re just a bit wider at the rear but the pan is stiffer, which actually makes it more comfortable. If you feel squirrelly, you can still slide to either side for aggressive riding. They’re pricy, though.

I had a set of the throw overs, (Tourmaster) good bags but I wanted a little more security. Got a set of Viking leather covered bags from a fellow member, and could not be happier. They are the ones in the photo at the bottom.
I made my own lockable QD mounts, and can go from naked bike to "bagger" in less than 10 min. I am sure there are other bags out there as good, maybe better than the Viking, but I really like mine.
If I have to go to the drugstore for an RX, no need to even get off, just put the key in and the lid opens outward, drop the bag in, turn key to lock and drive.
I plan on making a QD mount and adding a trunk to complete the set. That way me and momma can stop overnite at a hotel, remove all bags and carry in the luggage.

Yes I did. I made my own relocation bracket, and quick disconnect brackets for the bags. Here is the thread on it.
