Welcome from the Midlands. I ran a Sportster before my Dyna; what a great bike. Enjoy yours!

anyway, after a couple of Buells, I've bought a 2005 Sportster xl custom, which was in good condition with a few mods.
I'm trying to see if I can swop the 21" front wheel for a newer 48 Sportster 16" wheel and tyre without huge amounts of alteration....

tried a search but struggling to narrow it down...

anyway, lots to learn!
Hello old chap and welcome to HDF. Current Buell owner here, alongside a couple of Harleys. Is there a UK equivalent of HDF? No, but there are plenty of us in here. The UK is a big place, so tell us a bit more specifically where you are located, such as county or city - there may be one or more of us located close by.

Polite chuckles.

I've heard it said that in the UK 100 miles is a long distance; in the U.S. 100 years is a long time.

Lol in the US, CA specifically, 100 miles can be a daily commute, one way! This crazy state is almost 800 miles long. Welcome again.

It's around 900 miles from one end to the other, not as small as even some Brits think and even longer than CA!

On the history front, hot news off the press is that the rabbit came to the UK 2,000 years ago with the Romans!

Yup that helps. Nice work. Its always amazed me the huge empires (good or bad) of the past that have originated from island nations, ie Japanese Empire, and the British Empire.
