I have a seat for sale from a 2012 Super Low on a few different places. I just received a message asking if it would fit a 2008 1200. I told the person I didn't believe it did but I would check to make sure. Can anyone help me with the years and fitment of seats since 2004?

 

On the basis that I bought a Sundowner seat for a 2017 bike and it fits a 2008 perfectly I think you will be okay.

You need to make sure both bikes have the same size petrol tank. The bikes I am referring to are both 4.5 gallon.

 

2007-2009 Sportsters have the ECU mounted on the fender so the seat needs a recess to accommodate that, the 2012 seat might not.

 

As an example of seat fitment the reduced reach seat is for all years from 2007 on with a 4.5gallon tank:

This is what I was thinking. The seat I have does not have the recess. It's a stock seat. I'm sure the aftermarket seats are made to fit as many years as possible.
