Sportster Windshield Extension

Sportster Windshield Extension
I have a quick release windshield that came with my 2010 Forty Eight. I don't normally ride with the windshield, but I thought this fall when it gets cold it might come in handy.
The problem is that it's not tall enough for me and I get helmet shake from the wind buffeting.
Can anyone recommend an extension that can mount to the top to add maybe 6" to the height of it?

Windshield should be lower than eyes. So we can look over, not through. Helmet fitness and style will affect the buffetting. My HJC open face shake bad without windshield, getting better with windshield. Got zero wind buffetting with my full face shoei regardless windshield

Take a look on Amazon for "motorcycle windshield extender", where you will find a wide variety of such things. They are aimed at the sports/touring bike market for the same purpose and I used one for several years on my Buell Firebolt. Worked very well and was adjustable, so I could get it 'just so'.

I haven't tried that brand on any bike, however I have been riding behind a wide variety of windshields since the 1960s. The particular attraction of that 'Laminar Lip' design is that as well as raising shield height it also scoops air up at its base, which reduces buffetting behind it at face level. I am very happy with the H-D windshield on my Sporty, but use a similar extension to the LL on my Buell - wouldn't be without it!
I've lost count of the different shields I have used over the years, including much modified ones, and encourage you to try that one. Experience is the only way to find if something works for you! It looks good and starts out with good design features.
Very best wishes to your fellow countrymen in their current hour of need back home....
