Default any one good with part numbers?

im lookin at buying a seat for my sporty and im not sure if it will fit. niether is the owner. They say it will fit a dyna, softail,or sportster, but don't know what year.so if anyone is good at runnin down part numbers i could really use your help. it is supposedly a factory HD seat. it has a bar and badge above the part number.

rdw-92761-0067

it looks like it will fit and even if its not for mine i probably could mod it to work.

any help would be greatly appreciated

That # is not a part #, that I know of. I'm firmiliar with those stamped #s, usuallyon the front tang. I have not yet been able to track down an actual Harley part # from them.
Sportster, Softail and Dyna seats are all different. There's no universal fit. Softail seats are dished deeper than the others. Pre-2000 are dished the most. Dyna and Sportster seats are flatter. It takes a little practice and experience but you can tell the difference by looking at them. The only way to know for certain is to try it on or have a very high confidence of which model/years it fits. If you can post pics maybe that will help.

I'm not sure what that number is, it's not in the format of HD parts numbers. However, I don't think any of the seats prior to 07 will fit the 07 Sportster. They had to add some electrical stuff, etc, under the seat for the EFI, and I'm pretty certain, the only seats that will fit are just of 07 and later bikes.

I'm not totally certain about that. But, I'm pretty sure.

A quick search on Ebay shows that part(?) number on several different seats. I think the only way to be sure is trying it on the bike, but if you are buying via mail order this would be difficult.

that is the part number of the bracket. not the seat. I wouldnt buy one off ebay if it doesnt say what it fits for sure. One reason is, there are way to many that will tell you what it fits for sure.
