RE: Whats the cost for dealer install of pipes?
first time round, 500 and change (SE/AC, dyna jet kit and SEII exhaust) I had an appointment and a good book - I only was charged for 1 1/2 hrs labor, and I did get my new owners discount on parts, not labor. Have read some dealers getting as much as 4 hrs labor. Second time around, NO CHARGE.

Its not all that hard to do it all. The pipes are very simple, and the rejetting, if needed, is not all that hard either. If you feel leary about the rejetting, Id do the pipes myself and then check the plug burn to see if I needed to rejet. If you need to rejet, have the H.D. dealer do it.
As far as labor, I think it is all up to the dealer. I once had a dealer charge me 75 bucks to slip on some new grips for me and a separate 75 bucks to clip on a quick release wind shield. I bought a new bike and told them to put on some different grips, and to put on a quick release windshield thinking they wouldnt dare charge labor on a brand new bike, yet they did; one hour labor for the grips, and one hour labor for the windshield. I told them to take it off if that was how they were going to be, and they told me they will still charge me labor. Needless to say, I have yet to go back to that H.D. house.

It's a good idea to. If you put the pipes on, depending on year model, you are going to be down to the carb installing the pipes anyway. Rejetting is fairly simple on the slow jet. Remove bowl, then the float, screw out old jet, screw in new jet, reinstall float and bowl, reinstall carb airleaner back plate, filter and cover your done. If you leave off the SE air cleaner you most likely will not need to rejet. I didn't. Dealer here charges 5-600 bucks aprts and labor.

Your dealer will drill out stock baffles? I'm not ready for Stage I or beyond just yet but am looking for a little more rumble without significant performance loss. If the dealer will do it then its not a warranty buster, right? Do I void my warranty if I DIY it? Are there posts here describing the process?

bensonjv - lotsa post and just as many opinions - some feel the warantey issue is a scare tacktic - It worked on and for me - as when I ran into any trouble, I pointed out that I had never laid a wrench to the bike, other than to change sparkplugs - my dealer would not drill out baffels, but the dealers are independently owned - you would need to check with yours and ask questions of them - or better yet, get them to note it in the workorder - my.02
