Default Evo Carb vs Fuel Injection

I plan to purchase a used evo Sportster. What are the pros/cons of old school carb vs fuel injection? If I get an evo 883 and do a 1200 upgrade, is rejetting carbs easier than a fuel injection mod?

I've read that fuel injection is easier to start in cold weather. I really don't mind using a choke.

thanks,

Mike

You;ll find arguments both ways on this one. For me FI is better, start and go. Forget about it.

I have both. Either works just fine.

I like both. Both run great, however FI cost much more to modify.

I like my carb.To me it just seems more fun to work on.You can see it and adjust it just the way you want. The computer is too impersonal.

Fuel injection is much more expensive to tune after you make a change although you can theoretically tune it more precisely. Also, there is evidence now that the stock fuel injectors will only support up to 85 hp. If you plan to build a hot rod sportster over 85 hp, then you will need to replace the injectors (more $$$$ over tuning a carb). Then there is the problem of fuel pump problems on the 2007 models and potentially beyond 2007.
